What exactly is the iSlate?

Is it simply Apple's version of a "Kindle" or is it as effective as the HP touch screen computer Touch Smart? I currently have the HP Touch Smart wants Apple notebook, but I would hold until they touch a screen of some sort to get, so you have all the facts would help. I just want to know what is the function of the iSlate. From what I've seen you view magazines. Thanks in advance.

Nobody knows exactly, but it's all rumors Apple will probably show it off later today (January 27, 2010). It is very likely an actual touch-screen computer with something between the iPhone OS and a full Mac OS X. The rumors that it is a slate computer (hence the fake names) and not a touch-screen notebook keyboard does not flip open. In short, the current assumptions that it is an oversize iPhone. The comparisons with the Kindle come from rumors that Apple has been working with media groups and book publishers to make content for the tablet. But again, this is all speculation.
