Amazona € ™ s Kindle Vs the Sony Reader
In the last few months we are witnessing the launch of Amazona € ™ s Kindle. Marketing strategy was fierce, the new device was advertised on major television shows and the news everywhere, sales soared in the first few hours. People who WERENA € ™ t familiar e-ink technology based on this idea was the greatest innovation ever, although the technology wasnâ € ™ t new: Sony was in the market for almost 2 years with their PRS-505 e-reading device. Even though they were the pioneers in the implementation of the e-ink technology they didnâ € ™ t get the attention it was lighted. Why? As Sonya € ™ s the market was weak. They focused on other products, such as the PS3 and Blu Ray players. She didnâ € ™ t think the niche e-book readers was that large, but they were wrong: Amazon Hasna € ™ t been able to meet the demand for igniting. Currently the waiting list for three weeks (reminds me of the Wii euphoria) and sales price increases from $ 800 on Ebay.
Is ignited up to the hype? Only if you live in the U.S. that is. If you live elsewhere, forget about buying e-books from the device itself or the loading your own e-books or documents. Apple learned that their biggest consumers for their online iTunes Music Store would be in Europe and it proved right. Europe has a more stable economy and income per capita is higher. There are currently 17 virtual shops for European customers. Amazon, though it ships paper books to virtually all non-conflict zones in the world (about 150 countries) for shipping their e-book reader is limited to the U.S.. territory.
Sony is also selling in their e-reading devices in the U.S.. only different than the fact that Kindle Hasna € ™ t been an obstacle for people from other countries to one of these. The Sony online store (similar to iTunes) for e-books have limited access to U.S.. residents such as Amazon. The only difference between these technologies is the flexibility of Sonya € ™ s. The PRS-500 and its successor, the PRS-505 can be connected via USB on one computer and you can almost every load. RTF (Rich Text Format) and possible. pdf you can imagine, but with the restrictive function of these letter-sized e-books and documents shows a small font in the paperback format 6Â € screen which sometimes unreadable.
